Ogden Raptors News Release

OGDEN, UT - The Ogden Raptors plated four runs in the first inning, but they never held the lead Thursday night against Missoula.

The Osprey scored four in the top of the first, three in the fifth and four in the seventh to run away with an 11-4 victory.

Ogden's loss allowed Idaho Falls to pull within one game of first place with 11 games left in the first half, as the Chukars beat Helena, 6-4.

After Missoula hit two home runs and scored four to knock Raptors starter Kevin Malisheski out of the game, Chris Roller ripped a one-out double, stole third and scored on a wild pitch to put the Raptors on the board. Dillon Paulson then walked, and Drew Avans, who homered twice on Wednesday night, crushed a shot to straightaway center to pull Ogden within one run. After a second out, Ronny Brito hit a high drive down the right field line that stayed fair, and the game was tied at four runs apiece.

Neither team scored from the second through the fourth, but Missoula re-took the lead in the fifth on a walk, hit batter and high bouncer on the infield that was thrown away at first base.

The Osprey loaded the bases in the seventh with two out, and a wild pitch followed by a single and double drove in four more.

Chris Roller provided a charge to the crowd with a spectacular catch to end the top of the ninth, as he sprinted toward the wall just left of center and made a full dive toward the warning track to haul in a deep drive.

The Raptors will go for a win of the four-game series Friday night at 7:00. It's the annual Military Affairs Night at Lindquist Field. Players will be wearing their digital camo jerseys and many special guests from Hill Air Force Base will be on hand. It's also a Free Tee Friday, with the first 300 fans through the gates receiving a special edition Raptors T-shirt!
