Early Deficit no Barrier for Chihuahuas

The El Paso Chihuahuas fell behind by two runs early to the Oklahoma City Dodgers Friday night but scored eight unanswered runs to win 8-2. Brett Kennedy pitched six strong innings to advance his record to 10-0.

Diego Goris hit a two-out, two-strike, go-ahead grand slam in the top of the sixth inning, his seventh homer of the year. It was El Paso's sixth grand slam, which leads the Pacific Coast League. Javy Guerra went 4-for-4, his first four-hit game of the season.

Kyle McGrath, Trey Wingenter and Rowan Wick combined for three scoreless relief innings for El Paso, striking out six batters in the process. Friday's top of the sixth inning was interrupted by a cat running around in the outfield.
