(Burlington-IA)- A four run inning helped propel the Burlington Bees over the Beloit Snappers, 6-2, for their second straight win and their 40th win of the season, on Wednesday night at Community Field.

Snappers' starter Junior Mendez retired the first six he faced, before Ismael Dionicio dropped down a bunt for a base hit to lead off the third inning. After a single and an error the Bees had the bases loaded for Kody Eaves who fit a sacrifice fly to left, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead. Angel Rosa upped the lead to 3-0, crushing a three run homer to left, to cap off a four run third inning.

Bees' starter Daniel Hurtado went five innings in his second start of the season, holding the Snappers scoreless while striking out a season high six.

Ismael Dionicio added to the Bees' lead with a sacrifice fly, scoring Eric Aguilera, in the sixth inning, extending the Bees' lead to 5-0.

Mike Fish added another run for the Bees, with a sacrifice fly to right scoring Angel Rosa and the Bees pushed their advantage to 6-0 in the seventh.

Jaycob Brugman put the Snappers on the board in the ninth, with a solo homerun, followed later by a Ryan Mathews run scoring single, but the Bees hung for the 6-2 win.

Bees' starter Daniel Hurtado (1-0) picked up the win while Beloit starter, Junior Mendez (2-3) was charged with the loss.

The Burlington Bees (40-34) and the Beloit Snappers (32-44) wrap up their series Thursday night at 6:30 PM. Clint Sharp makes the start for the Bees against Hunter Adkins for Beloit.
