
Dwayne De Rosario to be Fetted by Friends and Some Old Foes at Saturday's Testimonial

The roster is set for the Dwayne De Rosario testimonial match today and it will feature a range of former players from Major League Soccer, the Canadian National team and abroad, the full roster can be found below. The match will kick-off at 3:00 p.m. ET at BMO Field prior to Toronto FC's match against New York City FC today.
De Rosario formally announced his retirement on Saturday, May 30, 2015 after 18 seasons as a professional football player. De Rosario leaves the game having won four MLS Cups (2001, 2003, 2006, 2007), MLS MVP honours in 2011 with D.C. United, MLS Cup MVP honours in 2001 and 2007, and was named to the MLS Best XI six times (2005-07, 2009-11). He played 14 seasons in MLS with Toronto FC, San Jose Earthquakes, Houston Dynamo, New York Red Bulls, and D.C. United. He made 367 appearances, scoring 109 goals, with 82 assists combined in MLS regular season and playoff matches.
For the Canadian National team, De Rosario finished with 81 caps (third all-time) and stands as the all-time leading goal scorer for Canada with 22 goals. He was named Canadian Player of the Year on four occasions (2005, 2006, 2007 and 2011), and in 2012 was named to Canada's all-time XI. De Rosario represented Canada at five CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments (2000, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2011), and won the Gold medal in 2000.
The Dwayne De Rosario Testimonial Match Presented By Alcatel OneTouch will be a celebration of Dwayne's tremendous career, his contributions to the game and Canadian soccer in general. Proceeds from the testimonial will benefit the DeRo Foundation, whose mission is to help youth achieve their maximum potential on and off the pitch by providing mentorship and developmental tools in the area of education, leadership, self-confidence and health and nutrition. Fans with tickets to Saturday's Toronto FC match will have the opportunity to attend the testimonial match, which is scheduled to kick-off at 3:00 p.m. ET.
