Dwayne Bacon Propels Greensboro Past Capital City

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - Dwayne Bacon had 21 of his 39 points in the second half to pace the Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, over the Capital City Go-Go, 139-125, on Tuesday at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The Swarm (22-21) had six players score in double figures in the pivotal game with playoff implications.

Capital City (22-21) pulled within five points of the Swarm on five occasions in the fourth quarter. However, clutch three pointers from Isaiah Wilkins and nine points from JP Macura held off the Go-Go. Greensboro built an 18-point lead late in the quarter after an 11-3 run to secure the victory.

Macura, who returned to action after missing 12 games due to injury, finished the game with 12 points and three rebounds in 14 minutes. Chinanu Onuaku recorded his 26th double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Devonte Graham added 11 points, six rebounds and six assists in 31 minutes. The Swarm had 54 points off the bench with Macura, Jaylen Barford (14 points) and Zach Smith (12 points) all scoring double digits.

The Go-Go was led by Chris Chiozza's 24 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals. Darel Poirier had 20 points and eight rebounds. Off the bench, Pe'Shon Howard added 20 points and six rebounds. Capital City connected on 17 triples and shot 48 percent overall.

The Swarm recorded an assist on 33 of its 50 field goals. Greensboro outrebounded the Go-Go, 46-37.

Greensboro remains in the playoff hunt with the win. The Swarm and Go-Go trail Grand Rapids (22-20) by a half-game for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
