
Stars Open Homestand with Win over Raptors

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, defeated Raptors 905 114-108 tonight to begin their three-game homestand.
The Stars (22-21) were led by Utah Jazz two-way player Naz Mitrou-Long, who scored a season-high 39 points (season-high 24 in the first half) to go along with five assists. Mitrou-Long's 39 points in the game and 24 points in a half are the most scored by a Stars player in the Salt Lake City Era (since 2016-17). Utah Jazz two-way player Tyler Cavanaugh tallied his eighth double-double of the season with 17 points and a team-high 12 rebounds, while Tanner McGrew scored 14 points to lead all Stars reserves. Jairus Lyles recorded his fourth-straight game in double figures, finishing with 10 points and a team-high seven assists off the bench.
The Raptors (25-18) were paced by Toronto Raptors two-way player Jordan Loyd, who finished with team-highs of 30 points and eight assists. Wade Baldwin IV tallied 28 points, while Derek Cooke Jr. secured his eighth double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 14 boards.
The Stars connected on 6-of-9 (.667) from three-point range in the first frame, leading by nine points (34-25) at the end of one. The Raptors took a three-point edge (71-68) with 5:41 remaining in the third quarter, but the Stars regained the lead with a 15-0 run (83-71) and entered the final frame with a 13-point advantage (87-74). The Stars led by 17 points (95-78) with 9:24 left to play in the game, but the Raptors outscored the Stars 25-11 in the ensuing minutes to trim the deficit to three points (106-103) with 1:02 remaining. Salt Lake City finished the game on an 8-5 run to seal the club's 22nd victory of the season.
Salt Lake City will continue its three-game homestand on Wednesday, March 6, against the Memphis Hustle (Memphis Grizzlies affiliate) at Bruin Arena at 7 p.m. (MT). The game is presented by TGI Friday's and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
