Vancouver Canadians News Release
(Gesa Stadium - Pasco, WA) - After getting no-hit for the first six innings of Thursday's game in Pasco, WA, the Canadians somehow took a 1-0 lead to the bottom of the 9th inning before Tri-City rallied for a pair of runs off of all-star closer RHP Andrew Case to stun Vancouver in the finale of a three-game series out at Gesa Stadium in Pasco, WA.
Vancouver would get its only run of the night thanks to Tri-City starter RHP Joel Linares who walked four consecutive hitters to lead off the top of the 5th. Aside from Linares' rocky frame, the Canadians couldn't muster up a base hit until the top of the 7th inning when C Josh Reavis singled off of LHP Luis Hernandez. The hard hit ball back up the middle would be the only hit Vancouver would tally on the night.
Canadians starter LHP Tayler Saucedo went five scoreless innings allowing just four hits while relievers RHP Sean Ratcliffe (2.0IP) and RHP Tyler Burden (1.0IP) both pitched scoreless frames getting the ball to Northwest League All-Star closer RHP Andrew Case.
The Saint John, NB product was anything but relief as the Dust Devils would rally for a pair of runs as both LF Henry Charles (single) and CF Mason Smith (single) would score as 2B Mitch Morales drove Smith in with a base hit back up the middle to give Tri-City a stunning, come-from-behind victory over Vancouver that completed a three-game sweep of the Canadians.
