Dust Devils Walk off to Complete Sweep

The Tri-City Dust Devils carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, but they waited until the last at bat of the game to win in a walk-off 2-1 over the Vancouver Canadians at Gesa Stadium Friday night. Second baseman Mitch Morales drove in right fielder Mason Smith to score the winning run.

Morales went 1-for-4 with the RBI. Smith had a game-high two hits in a 2-for-4 performance.

Tri-City starter Joel Linares didn't allow a hit over four innings Thursday night. He did allow a run in the third inning where he hit a batter and walked three. He finished the night with five strikeouts.

The Canadians didn't get their first hit until the seventh inning, when catcher Josh Reavis hit a single off Dust Devils reliever Luis Hernandez to lead off the inning. Hernandez pitched three innings in relief of Linares. He allowed just the one hit and struck out two. Reavis went 1-for-3 on the night and struck out once.

Lefty Jerry Keel (3-1) got the win for Tri-City. Keel was perfect over two innings and struck out a batter in his outing.

Tayler Saucedo pitched five scoreless innings in his start for the Canadians. He was able to keep the Dust Devils off the board despite allowing four hits and five walks. He struck out two hitters in his outing. Canadians closer Andrew Case (1-2) took the loss and blew a save opportunity Thursday night, his fourth blown save this season.

The Dust Devils will open up a three game series with the Spokane Indians of Friday night at 7:15 p.m. at Gesa Stadium. The first 500 fans through the front gates at Gesa Stadium will receive a Dust Devils Baseball Card Set courtesy of Wildhorse Resort and Casino.
