Friday, July 30th - Double Header

The Tri-City Dust Devils (30-46) came away with the split in the team's doubleheader on Friday night at Ron Tonkin Field against the Hillsboro Hops. The Dust Devils dropped the first matchup 5-2, but bounced back to earn the 7-1 win in the second game of the twin bill.

Carlos Herrera hit a home run in the first game, but a four-run bottom of the fifth inning for the Hops proved to be too much for Tri-City to overcome. The bats came alive early in the second game. The Dust Devils scored seven runs in the first inning to give the team the sizable lead right out of the gate. Luis Alvarado picked up the win after tossing five scoreless innings in his first start of the season.

Saturday, July 31st

The Tri-City Dust Devils (31-46) were the last team standing in Saturday night's 8-7 road victory over the Hillsboro Hops that went ten innings. Seven of Tri-City's eight runs came with two outs in the marathon thriller at Ron Tonkin Field.

The Dust Devils had a one-run slip away in the bottom of the ninth inning after Eduardo Diaz hit a two-out home run to send the game to extras. Tri-City rallied back to score a pair of runs to take back the lead, highlighted by Zach Humphreys scoring from second base on a wild pitch. The Hops did not go down without a fight, pulling within one in the bottom of the tenth, but reliever Tyler Smith earned the win after getting the Dust Devils over the finish line in the game's final inning.

Sunday, August 1st

The Tri-City Dust Devils (31-47) fell 4-1 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon to the Hillsboro Hops at Ron Tonkin Field. Newcomer Kenyon Yovan hit the first home run of his professional career in the top of the ninth inning for the team's lone run of the game.

Robinson Pina had a strong outing despite suffering the loss for the Dust Devils. Pina allowed only one run and two hits with nine strikeouts in six innings of work. Tri-City trailed the Hops by only one run until the bottom of the seventh inning before the deficit grew. Hillsboro scored three runs off reliever Zach Linginfelter in the bottom of the seventh inning, building a lead that proved to be insurmountable for the

Dust Devils.

After the off day on Monday the road trip will continue for Tri-City in Eugene. The Dust Devils will begin the six-game series against the Emeralds at PK Park on Tuesday with first pitch set for 7:05 pm.
