Vancouver Canadians News Release
(Gesa Stadium - Pasco, WA) - A six-run bottom of the 5th inning was more than enough offense for Tri-City starter RHP Christian Bergman who went wire-to-wire for a complete game shutout of the Vancouver Canadians on Thursday night as the Dust Devils topped the C's 6-0 out at Gesa Stadium.
Canadians starter RHP Blake McFarland went toe-to-toe with RHP Christian Bergman through the first four innings of Thursday's game in Pasco, WA, but ran into trouble in the top of the 5th inning as the Dust Devils sent 10 hitters to the plate scoring six runs. Tri-City 3B Jayson Langfels was the catalyst as he hit a two-run triple off the right field wall helping his starting pitcher who dominated Vancouver from start to finish.
The native of Glendale, CA, went nine scoreless innings, striking out six while limiting the Canadians attack to just four hits on the night. One of the bright spots for Vancouver was CF Jon Jones who finished the night 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in the loss.
With the 6-0 defeat, Vancouver drops their fourth straight and second in a row to the Dust Devils. The Canadians fall to 0-3 (.000) on the second half of the Northwest League season and watch the Dust Devils improve to 3-0 (1.000) remaining in top spot in the NWL East.
