Boise Hawks News Release
BOISE, ID - The Boise Hawks will look to stay undefeated in the second half as they take on the Everett AquaSox tonight. The Hawks (2-0) began their first road trip of the second half last night with a 8-6 victory over the AquaSox (0-2). After their five-game series in Everett, the Hawks will have an off day on Monday, August 1. The Hawks will then face the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (2-0) for the first time this season in a five-game set at Memorial Stadium.
The Hawks knocked a season-high three home runs last night, including back-to-back shots by 1B Paul Hoilman and C Rafael Lopez and a three-run jack by OF Jesus Morelli. Hoilman is now tied for the league lead in home runs. Those ten round-trippers are also the most a Hawks player has had since current pitcher Kyler Burke hit ten in 2007. Lopez has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games.
The Hawks are tied with the first-half winner, the Tri-City Dust Devils, for first place in the East this half. RHP Ben Wells will toe the rubber tonight for the Hawks looking for his third win against Everett's Stephen Landazuri (4-2). First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. MT.
