Oklahoma Warriors News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Daniel Duris made 36 saves and the Oklahoma Warriors combined for five goals in support to bring the team its tenth straight win Friday at the American Bank Center.
Malte Hasselgren scored his team-leading fifth goal against the IceRays to get Oklahoma on the scoreboard. With under four minutes remaining, Adam Smith worked the puck down low to William Lawson-Body in the far-side corner. Lawson-Body flung it to the front of the net, where it ricocheted off the diving netminder and found its way to Hasselgren who lit the lamp from the left side of the ice.
The Warriors added two goals in the second period. First, Blaise Miller scored his tenth of the year off a rush from Max Dronen and Garrett Horsager at 10:57 to make a 2-0 game. Drew Sutton and Joey Delgreco connected at the top of the zone before setting up a wide-open Brendan Williams at the side of the net to make it 3-0 with 6:56 left in the frame.
In the early stages of the third, Oklahoma was tasked with a two minute 5-on-3 penalty kill, and turned the ensuing even strength situation into another goal. Cole Teleki bounced the puck off the glass in his own zone to create a 2-on-1 with Lawson-Body and Delgreco. Delgreco received the pass and floated it over for Lawson-Body inside the zone before the Warriors captain rocketed in his tenth of the season at 9:56. The final goal came on the powerplay with 7:45 left when Horsager netted his fifth man-advantage goal of the season, from Sutton and Lawson-Body.
The Warriors win slotted them one back of a franchise record 11-game streak, and the team has been undefeated since the calendar flipped to 2023. Duris's shutout was his third of the season and seventh of his NAHL career.
The Warriors will meet the IceRays for the second game of the weekend series 7:15 Saturday at the American Bank Center.
