Nordiques Drop One Goal Affair to the Tomahawks

Maine Nordiques News Release
The Maine Nordiques continued their road trip to Johnstown to take on the Tomahawks to start a two-game weekend set. Looking at the season standings right now, the Nords are 1-2 against the Tomahawks - standings wise; the Nordiques entered the weekend in fourth place, but the Tomahawks were looking to hunt them down as they are currently in fifth place for the East Division. The Nordiques also welcomed Goaltender Colin Androlewicz to the squad as they add some goaltending depth while the team battles an illness.
The first period started with a chance for the Nordiques on the power play but couldn't convert. Goaltender, Kael Depape, made a big save early but neither team could find the opening goal in a closely battled first frame. The Nordiques would also kill off a penalty late to keep it scoreless after the first twenty minutes of action.
The Nordiques started the second on a good note generating offensive pressure but couldn't find a goal. They would head to the penalty kill early and come away with a kill and we're able to generate some offense also. The Nordiques stayed on the gas but were kept off the scoreboard. They got a chance on the power play but couldn't convert. The Tomahawks got a power play of their own but the Nords Penalty Kill was solid to keep it 0-0 after two periods of hockey in Johnstown.
The third period started with a Nordiques power play but came up empty. The Nordiques were able to generate some chances but the Tomahawks were able to center a pass and find the back of the net halfway into the period to take a 1-0 lead. The Nordiques battled back, but with the goalie pulled the Tomahawks iced it with two seconds remaining to take a 2-0 win.
Re-match is tomorrow at 7 in Johnstown.
