
Durham Defeats Knights to End Winning Streak

FORT MILL, S.C. - After an impressive start to the season, the Knights were defeated by the Durham Bulls 5-2, ending their five-game winning streak. The win tied up the series and the Knights are now 5-1 on the season.
Durham established their lead early in the game with a home run by outfielder Brandon Guyer. The Knights tied up the game in the first inning with an RBI sacrifice fly by Jim Gallagher. The next inning, Durham regained the lead thanks to doubles by Jose Lobaton, Russ Canzler and Desmond Jennings.
The Bulls were forced to use five pitchers in the game. Starter Richard De Los Santos and reliever Chris Bootcheck both left the game with injuries.
Alejandro De Aza and Gookie Dawkins continue to play for the Knights. Both had two hits in the game and De Aza scored both of the Knights runs.
The Knights and Bulls conclude their series tomorrow night at 7:15 PM. Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy is scheduled to start for the Knights tomorrow night vs. Durham. The Durham Bulls will counter with RHP Dirk Hayhurst.
