Buffalo Bisons News Release

Dunkin' Donuts has announced it will donate one pound of coffee to the Food Bank of Western New York for every run scored by the Buffalo Bisons during the team's 72 home games this season.

The community relations initiative is one element of a season-long partnership between the Bisons and Dunkin' Donuts that will also feature group outings, hosted by Dunkin' Donuts, for Western New York charitable organizations at Coca-Cola Field.

"We are honored to partner with the Buffalo Bisons to support an organization as vital as the Food Bank of Western New York," said Eric Stensland, Upstate New York field marketing manager for Dunkin' Donuts. "The purpose of the partnership is to capture the excitement of each run and turn it into a tangible benefit for the Food Bank."

Buffalo finished the 2010 season with a record of 76-68 and averaged nearly 4.9 runs per game. If the Bisons match their effort in the coming season, Dunkin' Donuts will donate a minimum of 360 pounds of coffee to the Food Bank of Western New York worth a retail value of nearly $3,000.

"The Bisons are excited to once again partner with Dunkin Donuts," said Mike Buczkowski, vice president/general manager of the Bisons. "The Bisons organization is proud to continue assisting the Food Bank of Western New York in the vital service they provide to our community. Hopefully, we will score plenty or runs this season."

"Many of us look forward to a cup of coffee each morning and see it as an essential part of starting our day," said Michael J. Billoni, marketing and public relations director of the Food Bank of WNY. "We are extremely grateful that Dunkin' Donuts and the Buffalo Bisons are teaming up to give back to our food bank. This will enable us to provide coffee for thousands of residents in need throughout our area."

The Food Bank of Western New York assists up to 100,000 Western New York residents each month, including 39,000 children and 11,000 seniors. It distributes food to approximately 400 member agencies that feed the less fortunate in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties through child care centers, food pantries, group homes, senior programs, shelters, soup kitchens and summer camps. The Food Bank of Western New York provides more than 11 million pounds of food annually.
