Dunedin Opens a Series in Port Charlotte with the Stone Crabs

SERIES FINALE LOSS: Lakeland defeated Dunedin by the 10-6 final in 10 innings. RHP Troy Watson made his Advanced-A Dunedin debut and pitched six innings, giving up four earned runs. Dunedin gave Watson the lead early on with a two run first highlighted by Demi Orimoloye's RBI single. Lakeland tied the game with two runs of their own in third and took the lead with two in the fifth. Down 6-4 heading into the bottom of the eighth, the Blue Jays tied the game at six on Chavez Young's two-run single to center. In the top of the 10th, things began to unravel for Dunedin as Lakeland plated five unearned runs on two Blue Jays errors en route to the series victory.

TONIGHT'S GAME: The Blue Jays take to the road to take on the Charlotte Stone Crabs in game one of a three game weekend series. Dunedin comes into play tonight having lost eight of 10 but have won 13 of their last 21 games. Dunedin has gone 24-16 overall against Florida State League South Division opponents.

AGAINST CHARLOTTE: Dunedin and Charlotte play game one of a three game weekend series at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, FL. It's the eighth of 13 matchups between the two division leading teams in 2019 with Dunedin holding the 4-3 season series lead. The Stone Crabs and Blue Jays split the four game series at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium in the early stages of June and will face off one more time in late August in Clearwater. Additionally, six of the last seven matchups' final scores have been seperated by two runs or less. On the offensive side of things, the two clubs sit in the top five in runs scored, hits, batting average, walks, stolen bases, on-base and slugging percentage in the Florida State League.

ROAD WARRIORS: The D-Jays check into play tonight with the league's second best road record at 32-16 behind the Charlotte Stone Crabs. Dunedin has won eight of their last 11 games away from their home ballpark and have outscored their opponents 67-47 in visiting parks dating back to June 28th.
