Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONT. - Hamilton Bulldogs forward Gabriel Dumont scored twice and Mike Condon made 30 saves for his second shutout in two weeks to pace the 'Dogs (19-17-6-0) to a 3-0 win over the Toronto Marlies (17-17-6-0) in front of 10,451 fans at FirstOntario Centre on Friday evening.
The win was Hamilton's third straight, marking the first time this season the Bulldogs have won three in a row. The 'Dogs end their season-long, seven-game homestand with a record of 4-3-0-0.
After scoreless first and second periods that saw the best Bulldogs chances come from a first-period spin-o-rama from forward T.J. Hensick and a hit post by forward Jacob de la Rose - Dumont blasted a wrister past Toronto goaltender Antoine Bibeau for his 10th goal of the season less than a minute into the third period to give the 'Dogs a 1-0 lead. de la Rose had the only assist on the play.
Less than three minutes later, with Hamilton on the power play, Bulldogs forward Daniel Carr drove hard to the net and finished with his ninth goal of the season to make it 2-0, assisted by Hensick and defenceman Greg Pateryn.
Dumont added an empty netter for his team co-leading 11th goal of the season with 1:49 to play to seal the 3-0 victory for Hamilton. Forward Christian Thomas had an assist.
Condon's second shutout of the season was also the second of his American Hockey League career. Bibeau stopped 29 of 31 shots faced for the Marlies in the loss.
Hamilton went 1-for-6 on the power play, while Toronto was 0-for-2 with a man advantage.
