AVON, Ohio - Dom Duggan's second-inning grand slam paced the Lake Erie Crushers to a 5-0 victory over the Windy ThunderBolts Monday night at All Pro Freight Stadium.

A single and two walks filled the bags for the Crushers centerfielder, who blasted the grand slam over the left field wall off of ThunderBolt starter Ricky Meinhold to give Lake Erie a 4-0 advantage. Duggan would add a fifth RBI in the third, when a single to center scored Joel Collins to round out the scoring.

Matt Smith tallied his fifth win of the season on the mound for the Crushers, allowing just three hits over seven innings of work for Lake Erie. Michael Raymond closed things down, finishing the final two frames in scoreless fashion.

Andrew Davis continued his hot hitting for Lake Erie, going 2-for-3 in the contest. He's been retired just once in eight plate appearances in the last two games. Jodam Rivera extended his hitting streak to nine games with a sixth inning single.

The series finale is set for 7:05 p.m. Tuesday. The Crushers (16-13) will go for their second straight series sweep at home with LHP Esmelvin Jimenez (2-2, 4.44) on the mound (16-13). RHP Joe Scumaci counters for Windy City (15-14).
