Grizzlies Ride Big Inning to Win

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Gateway Grizzlies used a five-run seventh inning to pull away from the Evansville Otters for an 8-2 Monday night in game two of a three-game series at Bosse Field.
The Grizzlies scored five runs on five hits in the seventh to build upon a 2-1 lead. Logan Parker drove in a pair of runs for the Grizzlies in the inning. Brandon Peters, Jason Patton and Breck Draper each had an RBI in the inning.
Evansville (13-16) got on the board in the first to take a 1-0 lead against Grizzlies starter B.J. Dail. Dail wouldn't allow another run until the seventh inning. Dail (3-1) earned the win, pitching into the seventh inning. He allowed the two runs on six hits. He walked five. He has now won his last three starts.
The Grizzlies (16-14) took a 2-1 lead with a pair of runs in the third inning. Peters and Patton each had RBI singles in the inning.
Peters capped the scoring with a solo home run, his fifth, in the eighth inning. He finished 3 for 5 with three RBIs. Patton was 2 for 5. Parker was 2 for 4. Bryan Marquez and Tyler Heil each had two hits for the Grizzlies, who had 12 in the game.
The Grizzlies and the Otters wrap up the three-game series with a 12:05 pm game Tuesday in Evansville.
