ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks have announced that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Emerson Etem and reassigned goaltender John Gibson to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.

Etem, 22, has played in five games this season with the Admirals, after being reassigned by the Ducks on November 24. The Long Beach, California native posted a goal in his first game this year and most recently scored two power-play tallies, including the game-winner, against Springfield on Saturday. Etem has spent 21 games with the Ducks this season, notching four points on two goals and two assists. Drafted 29th overall in 2010, Etem has amassed 88 total games with Anaheim, registering 12 goals and 13 assists in that timespan. He played his 100th game as an Admiral on Saturday, and has recorded a total of 40 goals and 33 assists, a plus-minus rating of +13 and 24 penalty minutes.

Gibson, 21, has been with Anaheim since being initially called up on October 20 after his first reassignment to Norfolk, and has appeared in four games for the Ducks this season. The Pittsburgh native owns a 2-2 record with a .927 save percentage (SV%) and 2.28 goals-against average (GAA), including one shutout. After surrendering six goals in the Ducks' season opener, Gibson allowed just three on 84 shots over the next three games, in addition to a .964 SV% and 1.02 GAA. Gibson has only played two games in Norfolk this season and went 1-1, but was between the pipes last year for 45 games, during which he put up a 21-17-4 record.

Norfolk finishes up its five-game homestand this weekend against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, beginning Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available for purchase at the Scope Box Office, ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets and charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000.
