
Wild Re-Signs Danny Syvret, Baldwin Assigned to Alaska

DES MOINES, IA- Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Wednesday that the American Hockey League (AHL) team has re-signed defenseman Danny Syvret (sivv-rhett) to a professional tryout agreement (PTO). Mill also announced the team has assigned defenseman Corbin Baldwin to the Alaska Aces, Iowa's ECHL affiliate.
The veteran defenseman has played in 25 games with Iowa this season, scoring twice and adding eight assists for 10 points on the season. Syvret led the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack in scoring last season, setting up a team high 37 assists and totaling 46 points in 76 games played. His 47 points were ranked seventh best in the AHL for the 2013-14 season. Overall, the Millgrove, ON native has played in 584 AHL games, scoring 57 goals and adding 251 assists for 308 points. Syvret was named to the First Team AHL All Star squad in 2008-09, as well as making an appearance in the 2009 AHL All Star Classic. The tenth-year pro enjoyed his best pro season in 08-09, collecting 57 points off 12 goals and 45 assists in 76 games played. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder has also played in 59 NHL games between the Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks and Edmonton Oilers. Syvret was drafted in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft (#81 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry draft.
Baldwin, played in 16 games for Iowa this season, recording zero points and 16 penalty minutes. The third-year defender played in four games for the Alaska Aces this year, registering one assist. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder played in 64 games for Iowa last season, leading the team with 129 penalty minutes. The Winnipeg, MB native has played in 84 AHL games over his career, setting up two goals and collecting 152 minutes in penalties.
After a road game at Chicago on Saturday, the Wild returns home for its final home game prior to the holiday break. The Wild and Wolves will play at Wells Fargo Arena on Sunday at 3 p.m. The game is a Subway Family Four Pack game, where fans may purchase four tickets, four sodas, four hot dogs and four Subway coupons, starting at just $48. The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April.
