Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors today announced nine players have been assigned to the team from their NHL affiliate, the Anaheim Ducks. The announcement was made by Ducks Senior VP of Hockey Operations David McNab and Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond.
G Jean-Philippe Levasseur, 22, comes to Condorstown after spending the entire 2008-09 campaign with the Iowa Chops, Anaheim's American Hockey League affiliate. He appeared in 41 games and amassed a 3.11 goals against average (GAA) with Iowa. The 7th round pick of the Ducks in 2005 enters his third professional season, having also split time between the Ducks AHL (Portland) and ECHL (Augusta) affiliates in his rookie season in 2007-08.
G Timo Pielmeier, 20, joins the Condors as a rookie in the professional ranks, coming from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The German-born netminder (right) compiled a 52-33-6 record, with a 2.84 GAA and a .912 save percentage over two seasons. He has represented his homeland four times in international play, including the last three World Junior Championships. Pielmeier was originally a 3rd round pick of the San Jose Sharks in 2007.
D John de Gray, 21, also spent his rookie campaign with the Chops. The 6-4, 204-pound blueliner was a 3rd round draft pick of the Ducks in 2006, and had 2g-5a-7pts in 62 games last season. He played four years with the Brampton Battalion in the OHL, totaling 54 points and 369 penalty minutes in 253 games. De Gray also played in the 2006 Canadian Hockey League Top Prospects Game.
D Eric Regan, 22, spent his entire rookie season in 2008-09 with the Chops, and will join the Condors for his second pro campaign. The 6-3, 200-pound defenseman had 1g-7a-8pts in 59 games, and recorded back-to-back 40-point efforts in his last two seasons of juniors in the Ontario Hockey League.
LW Bobby Bolt, 22, returns to the Condors after spending an injury-plagued 2008-09 season with the team. Bolt (right), a 5th round Anaheim selection in 2005, was limited to just 11 games in the regular season, but returned to record a pair of assists and 13 penalty minutes in five playoff games against Las Vegas. He racked up 15 goals in his rookie season, and has also skated in nine AHL games in his career as well.
C Maxime Macenauer, 20, comes to the Condors from the junior ranks, after spending four seasons in the QMJHL. A 3rd round pick of the Ducks in 2007, Macenauer had 100 points in his last two seasons of junior hockey. He helped guide two different clubs to the QMJHL finals in 2008 and 2009, recording 11g-19a-30pts in 38 playoff games over those two seasons.
LW Logan MacMillan (right), 20, was a 1st round pick of the Ducks in 2007 and turns pro after four seasons of junior hockey in the QMJHL. Just assigned from Anaheim's training camp, MacMillan totaled 53g-92a-145pts in 219 games over four seasons in juniors, while adding 40 points in 51 playoff games during that stretch.
C MacGregor Sharp, who turns 24 on Thursday, jumps to the pros after a standout career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, which culminated in a 50-point senior season that saw him rank second in the entire nation in goals (26). Sharp was a WCHA All-Tournament Team and All-College Hockey News Second Team selection as a senior, and he led his club in assists and points as a junior as well. He broke into the pros last season with Iowa, posting 1g-1a in six AHL games.
LW Shawn Weller, 23, was acquired in the off-season by the Ducks in a trade with Ottawa, who drafted him in the 3rd round in 2006. At 6-2 and 205 pounds, Weller (right) spent most of last season in the AHL with Binghamton, (70gp, 4g-5a-9pts) and also played briefly in the ECHL with Elmira (4gp, 1g-1a-2pts). He played three seasons at Clarkson University in the ECAC where he led his team in scoring in 2006-07.
