
Ducks drop sixth straight

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Bryan Helmer and Tomas Kopecky scored third-period goals to lift the Grand Rapids Griffins to a 2-1 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Tuesday at Van Andel Arena.
Joey MacDonald made 28 saves for the Griffins, who won their third straight game and improved to 17-6-2-0 all-time against Cincinnati, including 9-2-2-0 at home.
Michael Holmqvist had a power-play goal in the first period for the Ducks, who lost their sixth game in a row. It's the longest losing streak for the Ducks since they lost six straight December 21-30, 2002.
Ilya Bryzgalov made 25 saves in the loss.
The Ducks play Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at Milwaukee.
