Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive lost the series to Jersey Shore but pulled out the win for the final game of their series with the BlueClaws. The final score was Greenville 4 Jersey Shore2.
Jersey Shore was the first to score in the first when a throwing error by Alex Erro allowed Johan Rojas time to steal home.
Greenville kept up with the BlueClaws as Alex Erro hit a single, sending Antoni Flores home to tie up the game.
At the top of the fourth the Drive broke the tie with three runs. After Gilberto Jimenez doubled, Nick Decker, Alex Erro, and Tyler McDonough scored three runs for Greenville to take the lead.
A hit from Jared Carr allowed the BlueClaws to score a final run, but ultimately Jersey Shore fell short in their efforts in the final game.
Pitcher Brian Van Belle allowed one run and pitched five innings for the Greenville Drive to take the win.
The Drive starts another series at Winston-Salem this Tuesday at 7:05.
