Drive Loses Twice to BlueClaws

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive dropped both ends of their double header against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws. The first game resulted in a skinny loss for the Drive with a final score of Jersey Shore 3-2.

In the first game Greenville jumped out to an early lead when Alex Erro's single drove in Joe Davis in the second inning. Jersey Shore responded with a run to tie it up.

After a no scoring third inning, Greenville jumped back in the lead with an RBI double by Davis at the top of the fourth bringing Gilberto Jimenez home.

The BlueClaws took back the lead for good at the bottom of the fifth thanks to hits by Johan Rojas and Ethan Wilson. Wyatt Olds took the loss for the Drive after going 4 1/3 innings giving up two runs and striking out six.

The second game of the day was another tough loss for the Drive as the BlueClaws won for the second time of the day with a score of 5-1.

Jersey Shore started the game off with a quick lead when Wilson hit a homer with two men on base at the bottom of the first.

Nick Matera from the BlueClaws followed his lead at the bottom of the fourth by hitting a homerun of his own and putting his team up 4-0.

Tyler McDonough from Greenville ended their dry spell in the top of the sixth by hitting an RBI single.

However, Greenville ultimately could not stop Jersey Shore as Rixon Wingrove hit the team's third home run of the game at the bottom of the sixth making the score 5-1.

The final game of the series is tomorrow at 1:05 in Jersey Shore.
