GREENVILLE, SC-- Once again, the Asheville Tourists fell behind early but used a late momentum push to nearly pull off a win. The Tourists loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the ninth, but a fly-out ended the threat and sent Asheville to a 4-3 loss.

Greenville's Michael Kopech held the Tourists scoreless through five innings. Kopech allowed just two baserunners, a Drew Weeks triple in the first and a Yonathan Daza single in the fifth. Offensively for the Drive, Mike Meyers smacked a two-run Home Run in the bottom of the first. The Drive added another in the fourth while tacking on an unearned run in the fifth.

Trailing 4-0, the Tourists finally made some noise in the sixth. Asheville loaded the bases but Randy Reyes struck out to end the inning. In the seventh, Sean Dwyer singled home Forrest Wall from second to put the Tourists on the board. Asheville loaded the bases again in the eighth. With one out, Daza grounded into a fielder's choice that included a throwing error; plating two runs.

Dwyer delivered again in the ninth with a one-out double. Two batters later, Wes Rogers was intentionally walked in favor of Emerson Jimenez. The Tourists shortstop came through with a single into right loading the bases. Weeks then flew out ending the comeback attempt and the game.

James Lomangino pitched three shutout innings in relief of Carlos Polanco who suffered his third loss of the year. Asheville wraps up their road trip on Sunday with a 4:05pm contest against Greenville.
