Austin FC News Release

Austin, TEXAS - A pair of goals from Sebastián Driussi and one from Julio Cascante saw Austin FC fight to a 3-3 draw with San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd of 20,738 at Q2 Stadium.

Cascante got the Verde & Black off to a good start in the 6th-minute, heading in a cross from Diego Fagundez. The assist was the 60th of Fagundez's MLS career, making him the 13th player in league history to record at least 60 goals and 60 assists.

The Earthquakes responded right away, equalizing on an unusual goal by Benji Kikanovic in the 8th-minute. Paul Marie put San Jose in front 12 minutes later with a powerful strike from distance.

It was then Austin's turn to answer quickly, tying the match once again in the 26th-minute. Alex Ring released Ethan Finlay down the right flank, who slid a clever pass across the face of goal for a late-arriving Driussi to slam home.

Driussi doubled his tally before halftime, cleaning up a rebound and putting Austin ahead with his league-leading 16th goal of the season. The two teams canceled each other out in the second half until Jeremy Ebobisse scored San Jose's third of the night in the 88th-minute, ensuring the sides split the points.
