
Drillers Rally in 9th for 5-4 Walk-Off Win

TULSA, Ok. - With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, the Tulsa Drillers (29-23, 66-55) rallied for four straight runs to power to the 5-4 walk-off win against the Springfield Cardinals (24-28, 54-68) on Wednesday night.

L: RHP Mitchell Osnowitz (1-1)
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:
-The Cardinals swung out of a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth when 3B Elehuris Montero, RF Johan Mieses and SS Rayder Ascanio connected on three consecutive two-out singles, with Ascanio's base hit plating Montero for the 1-0 lead.
-The Drillers tied it in the fifth when LF Drew Avans lined a solo home run to right field, evening it at 1-1.
-Springfield again seized the lead in the seventh with a two-run blast by 2B Yariel Gonzalez to right field, opening the 3-1 lead.
-Mieses padded the lead with a solo shot to left field in the ninth, making it a 4-1 advantage for the Cardinals.
-RHP Mitchell Osnowitz retired the first two batters in the bottom of the ninth, but C Connor Wong woke up the Drillers bats with a solo home run to keep the game alive and shave it to 4-2. 1B Chris Parmelee then doubled, followed by a two-out walk from CF Donovan Casey. With two on and two down, RF Cody Thomas belted a three-run home run to right field, propelling the Drillers to the 5-4 walk-off win.
NOTABLES:
-INF Yariel Gonzalez went 1x4 with a two-run home run, his second straight game with a long-ball in Tulsa. Gonzalez is up to 10 homers and 39 RBIs in just 49 Double-A games this year.
-RF Johan Mieses went 3x4 with his 10th home run of the year and two singles.
-3B Elehuris Montero went 2x4 with two singles and a run.
