Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY -- Scott Drevitch tallied his second hat trick of the season, as the Adirondack Frostbite ended their two-game losing streak with a 6-1 win over the Elmira Jackals on Sunday at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Drevitch started the scoring 9:07 into the first period, taking a pass from Mark Hurtubise and one-timing a shot past Tyson Gajda for his 10th goal of the season.
Elmira came right back, tying the game just 20 seconds later. John Donnelly fed Kevin Cooper skating behind the Frostbite defense, and he beat Derek Gustafson with a quick wrist to the stick side.
The Frostbite went ahead for good just 58 seconds into the second period, as Drevitch scored his second of the night on a power-play opportunity. Ryan Prentice made it 3-1 before the end of the period, taking a centering feed from Blue Bennefield, and beating Gajda with a wrist shot from the left-wing circle.
Adirondack put the game away, scoring three times in the final period, including Drevitch's third of the night at 14:26 to make it 5-1. Ryan Bennett set the final, scoring his 17th of the season, and extending his scoring streak to six games.
The Frostbite conclude their four-game home stand on Wednesday, hosting the Roanoke Valley Vipers at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday's game will be played on green ice, and the Frostbite will wear special green jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game with proceeds to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Also, it's a Wacky Wednesday, with 14-ounce drafts of Bud, Bud Light, and Coors Light just $2 all night long, and it's another Family Four Pack Night, with four tickets four slices of pizza, and four sodas just $50.
