Dayton Dragons News Release
Dayton, OH - The Dayton Dragons will host the South Bend Silver Hawks over Memorial Day weekend at Fifth Third Field in a brief two game series with games starting on Sunday night at 7:00 PM and on Memorial Day, Monday afternoon, at 2:00 PM.
"With the three day holiday weekend and Monday being a day off for most people, we decided to treat Sunday like Saturday and Monday like Sunday," said Dragons President Robert Murphy. "A Sunday night game will provide the opportunity to let our fans spend the day with their families and the Monday afternoon start gives everyone the chance to enjoy Dragons baseball under the Sun."
The later start will also help both the Dragons and Silver Hawks rest up for the two game set at Fifth Third Field after back-to-back double headers at Coveleski Stadium on Friday and Saturday nights. The consecutive double headers are due to earlier postponements because of inclimate weather at Coveleski Stadium in early April. Both double headers at South Bend will begin at 5:00 PM and can be heard on 1410 ESPN Radio WING AM.
The 7:00 PM Sunday night and 2:00 PM Monday afternoon games at Fifth Third Field will be televised locally on "Dragons TV" Time Warner Cable Channel 25 with Mike Vander Wood and former Cincinnati Red Todd Benzinger calling the action.
