October 25, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
New York Dragons News Release

(October 25) The New York Dragons will open up their 2006 season at home on Saturday night January 28, 2005 when they kickoff against the Tim McGraw-owned Nashville Kats at the Nassau Coliseum at 7:00 PM EST.

Head coach Weylan Harding and the Dragons will defend their Eastern Division Championship from 2005 with sixteen straight weeks of action for the second year in a row, as there is no bye week in the AFL this season. New York will play their division foes Columbus Destroyers, the Jerry Jones-owned Dallas Desperados and Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul the customary two times. Highlights of the schedule are match-ups against both expansion teams; at the Utah Blaze in Week Three (February 11) and home against Kansas City in Week Nine (March 24).

Following last season's success, the Dragons will host four of their home games on Saturday night: Nashville in Week One (January 28), Grand Rapids in Week Ten (April 1), Philadelphia in Week 14 (April 29) and Georgia in Week 15 (May 6). For the first time since their inaugural season, the Dragons will host two Friday night games: Columbus in Week Six (March 3) and Kansas City.

Deposits for 2005 Dragons season tickets are now being taken. Call 1-866-AFL-TIXX or visit NewYorkDragons.com for more information.
