Rush 2006 season schedule announced

October 25, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release

October 25, 2005 - The 2006 Chicago Rush season will begin Sunday, January 29, on the road against John Elway's defending ArenaBowl champion Colorado Crush - the site of Chicago's final game in 2005, a heartbreaking 49-43 overtime loss in the American Conference championship last June.

"I guess its kind of like jumping right back on that horse that bucked you," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "We were the team they were able to get by to get to the ArenaBowl last year and they will be celebrating that championship before the game right in front of us. It certainly doesn't make for an easy start to the season."

The Rush home opener is set for Week 2, when the New York Dragons travel to Allstate Arena for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Friday, February 3. The game begins a string of five Rush home games in the season's first seven weeks.

Chicago's road schedule features a three-game road trip in April that takes the team to Orlando, Philadelphia and Arizona, as well as the team's first-ever trip to Atlanta for a matchup with Doug Plank's Georgia Force.

The Rush regular season concludes at Grand Rapids Saturday, May 13.

The AFL playoffs will begin the weekend of May 20-21 and ArenaBowl XX is slated for Sunday, June 11, in Las Vegas.

Chicago Rush season and group tickets currently are on sale. To reserve your tickets, or for more information about 2006 Rush tickets, fans can call the Rush at (877) Rush-Tix (787-4849) or visit the team's Web site, www.chicagorush.com.
