Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Fort Wayne TinCaps (affiliate of the San Diego Padres) in the first game of a three-game series.

2019 Season Series between Dayton and Fort Wayne: Dragons 7, TinCaps 7 (at Fort Wayne: TinCaps 6, Dragons 1).

Last Game: Tuesday: Lake County 5, Dayton 4. The Captains battled back from a 3-0 deficit after five innings and broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the top of the ninth to win. The two clubs split the four-game series. Dayton collected 10 hits including two each for Brian Rey, Jay Schuyler, and Miguel Hernandez. Dragons starting pitcher Eduardo Salazar fired no-hit baseball over the first five innings before allowing four runs in the sixth.

The Playoff Chase: With 26 games to play, the Dragons face a four game deficit in the race for a playoff spot. South Bend is the current wildcard leader.

Team Notes

The Dragons went 5-3 on their eight-game home stand vs. Bowling Green and Lansing that ended Tuesday. Four of the five wins came by one run and two were walk-off wins. The Dragons are 31-28 since June 1.

Individual Notes

LHP Andy Fisher has been selected as the Cincinnati Reds Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July. Fisher posted a 0.36 ERA for the month, appearing in six games (three with Greeneville; three with Dayton). He worked 25 innings, allowing 12 hits and three runs (one earned run) with three walks and 27 strikeouts. Since joining the Dragons, Fisher has allowed only one unearned run in 15 innings. He has allowed three hits and no walks.

Michael Siani is batting .324 in his last 28 games. He hit .326 in July to rank 6th in the Midwest League.

Since May 24, Siani has played in 60 games and is batting .303 with 26 stolen bases. Since May 24, he ranks 5th in the MWL in batting average, 3rd in the MWL in hits, 3rd in runs scored and 1st in stolen bases.

Brian Rey over his last 11 games is 14 for 40 (.350) with three home runs and 13 RBI. He has an eight-game hitting streak.

Jay Schuyler over his last 11 games is 13 for 39 (.333) with one home run.

Mariel Bautista over his last nine games is 12 for 36 (.333) with one home run.

Matt Pidich over his last 23 games: 1.55 ERA, 40.2 IP, 29 H, 14 R, 7 ER, 12 BB, 43 SO.
