Visalia, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers stunned the California League's top team, the Visalia Rawhide with a two-out, three-run rally 5-3 Saturday night. The 66ers had nobody aboard and were down to their final strike before five consecutive batters reached base against Rawhide closer Nick Sarianides (1-3) as Inland Empire got back to .500 on the year at 55-55 and 20-20 in the second half.

Roberto Baldoquin was the hitting star on the night for Inland Empire. The native of Las Tunas, Cuba tagged a two run single in the first against Visalia starter Anthony Banda. The game stayed 2-0 until the fourth when Daniel Palka drilled a leadoff double off the wall against 66ers starter Ryan Etsell. Palka eventually scored on a double-play ball trimming IE's lead to 2-1. The Rawhide (68-44, 26-16) eventually took a 3-2 lead in the sixth when on a pair of RBI doubles from Jamie Westbrook and Alex Glenn. Etsell allowed three runs on nine hits with three Ks and a walk in a no-decision. Visalia starter Anthony Banda finished allowing two runs on three hits with six Ks and three walks.

With two outs, two strikes and nobody aboard in the top of the ninth against Sarianides, Eric Aguilera coaxed a walk for the Sixers. Brandon Bayardi then singled to center. Caleb Adams followed with single to left that scored Aguilera and tied the game 3-3. Then Baldoquin came to the plate and hammered a double off the top of the wall in left field to score both Bayardi and Adams to give the 66ers a 5-3 lead. Baldoquin knocked in four runs on the night.

Geoff Broussard came in to close the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. The first batter he faced reached base on an error but Broussard then struck out Alex Glenn, Jose Queliz and pinch hitter Gerson Montilla in succession to lock down his 13th save of the year. Broussard has now struck out 63 batters in 38.2 IP. Ronnie Muck (2-0) allowed just a walk in two innings of relief with three Ks to earn the win. The 66ers have now one four games when trailing after eight innings this season.
