New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

TRENTON, NJ - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) - led by a three-run home run from Cavan Biggio - took down the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) 4-1 Tuesday night at ARM & HAMMER Park.

A four-run second was all the 'Cats would need. Harold Ramirez led off with a solo home run to break a scoreless tie. Hits from Juan Kelly and Gunnar Heidt later in the inning put two on with two outs for Biggio, who slugged his league-leading 17th home run of the year to make it 4-0 New Hampshire.

Josh DeGraaf (W, 3-4) was superb for the Fisher Cats. The Morris, IL native went 5.1 innings and allowed one earned run - a solo home run by Trey Amburgey in the sixth - on six hits, walked two and struck out five.

Kirby Snead and Travis Bergen kept the Thunder off balance over the sixth, seventh and eighth, setting up Andrew Case's sixth save of the season with a perfect ninth.

Biggio, Ramirez and Kelly all had two hits in the game.

With the win, the 'Cats maintain sole possession of first place and are 1.5 games up on the second-place Thunder.

The Fisher Cats return home tomorrow night for the first of five against the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies). RHP Justin Dillon (1-3, 7.76 ERA) of New Hampshire will be opposed by Reading RHP Tyler Viza (0-3, 7.54 ERA). Coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. with the Fisher Cats Pregame Show and continues with first pitch at 7:05 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
