Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the International Hockey League, announce that forward Mark Nebus and goaltender Jason Tapp have earned monthly league awards for the month of November.

The most dominate player in the league last month, Nebus earns the Pepsi Player of the Month. In 12 games, the native of South Lyon, Michigan produced 15 points (9 goals and 6 assists) and was an astonishing +14.

Nebus' top performance of the month occurred on November 23rd versus Port Huron, when on only six shots on net; Nebus tied a franchise regular season record for goals in a game with five.

Currently at +13, Nebus leads the league in plus/minus. The nine goals in November give Nebus a season total of 11, which ties him with Lucas Drake for the team-lead.

Nebus becomes the first K-Wings player this season to win a monthly award and joins former K-Wing Kory Karlander as the only other K-Wings forward to skate away with a monthly honor in the past two seasons.

There should be no surprise that Tapp has earned Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Month.

A two-time recipient of weekly awards last month, no one was better at protecting the net than Tapp. Earning victories in seven straight starts, Tapp finished the month with a resounding record of 8-1-0-0. The native of Kelowna, British Columbia went through November with a 2.45 goals against average and a save percentage of 0.928.

Highlighting the month for Tapp was his K-Wings' season-high 45 saves performance to preserve a 5-0 shutout over the Bloomington PrairieThunder back on November 21st.

The astonishing 45-save effort also tied Tapp for the league-high for saves in a game.

Logging in some minutes, Tapp has started in 14 of the K-Wings 17 games this season. Tapp ranks second in the IHL in goals against average (3.01), wins (9) and save percentage (0.907). Tapp also leads the league in minutes played with 837:45.

Tapp becomes the first K-Wings goaltender since the rebirth of the IHL to earn goaltender of the month status.

Kalamazoo will continue their five-game road swing this Thursday, December 4th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off against the Flint Generals.

The K-Wings will return to Wings Stadium Friday, December 12th with a 7:30 p.m. encounter versus the Flint Generals
