Green Bay, Wis. - After falling behind 3-2 in the top of the 11th, the Bullfrogs brought home two to walk off for a victory against the La Crosse Loggers on Saturday.
Pitching dominated the game throughout. Matt Esparza started for the Bullfrogs and Derek Gordon for the Loggers, each going six innings and giving up two runs.
The Bullfrogs took advantage of a Gordon mistake early on in the second inning with a Tripp Martin two-run home run to left field giving the Bullfrogs a 2-0 lead after two innings.
It was Martin's 10th home run of the season, tying the single-season Bullfrogs record set by Scott Schebler in 2010.
On the other side, the one mishap from Esparza came in the fourth inning with two runners on and Bobby Juan up to bat for LaCrosse. Juan doubled to the gap in right field, bringing around Michael Katz and Johnny Bekakis to tie the game up at two after four innings.
After that, the bats stayed silent all the way through regulation and into extra innings. Finally, in the 11th, Eric Toole doubled in Johnny Bekakis to give La Crosse a 3-2 lead over the Bullfrogs.
Green Bay struck back in the bottom of the 11th. Ryan Drobny evened the score at 3-3 with an RBI double down the right field line. LaCrosse reliever Brooks Kriske intentionally walked Cabe Reiten to load the bases for Door County native Tom Sawyer.
