FRANKLIN, Wis. - Gustavo Pierre homered and drove in three runs, Jake Dahlberg pitched a gem and the Chicago Dogs completed the sweep with a 8-3 win over the Milwaukee Milkmen on Tuesday night.

Dahlberg (W, 8-6) dazzled over seven frames, allowing just one earned run on three hits while striking out six. Following the first inning, the UIC alum retired 19 of 21 batters to finish his outing.

Milwaukee earned its lone run off of Dahlberg in the bottom of the first, as an RBI single from Garrett Copeland made it a 1-0 lead for the Milkmen.

The lead would be short-lived, however, as Chicago responded with four runs in the top of the fourth off Milkmen starter T.J. House (L, 7-9). The Dogs led off the inning with three straight singles, the third of which came off the bat of Tony Rosselli to score Jordan Dean and knot the game at one.

After David Olmedo-Barrera walked to load the bases, Gustavo Pierre promptly cleared them with a two-run base knock - with another scoring on an error - to put Chicago on top, 4-1.

Victor Roache added to the lead with an RBI single in the top of the sixth, scoring Olmedo-Barrera to push the lead to four.

The Dogs continued to pile it on in the top of the eighth. With two outs, Pierre launched a solo shot, his fourth home run of the year, to extend the Dogs' lead to 6-1. Keon Barnum was then hit by a pitch and Roache followed suit by mashing his 21st homer of the season to make it eight unanswered runs for the visitors.

Milwaukee got two runs back in the bottom of the eighth off of Luke Wilkins, courtesy of base knocks from Chris Scura and Manuel Boscan.

Daniel Hurtado then slammed the door in the ninth to secure the sweep.

The Dogs return to Impact Field tomorrow to open a three-game set with the Winnipeg Goldeyes. RHP Carlos Zambrano (3-0, 4.82 ERA) will get the start with first pitch slated for 7:05 PM.
