Dodgers Win Eighth Straight Game in Bricktown

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Dodgers continued their undefeated start at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark with a 6-3 win Wednesday night against the Iowa Cubs.

With the victory in the opener of a five-game series between the teams, the Dodgers improved to 8-0 at home for their best start at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark since the ballpark opened in 1998.

Oklahoma City overcame an early 2-0 deficit Wednesday, scoring all six of its runs between the third and fifth innings to improve to 13-4 overall - tied for the team's best overall start through 17 games since Oklahoma City rejoined the PCL in 1998. Both the 2015 and 2008 teams also posted 13-4 records.

Infielder Breyvic Valera went 4-for-4 for Oklahoma City with two runs scored and a RBI. Rocky Gale and Travis Taijeron each collected a hit and two RBI.

Iowa took the game's first lead in the third inning on a RBI double by Bijan Rademacher and RBI single by Taylor Davis.

Valera led off the bottom of the third inning with a single for OKC. Later with two outs, Tim Locastro's RBI single scored Valera to cut Iowa's lead to 2-1.

The Dodgers rallied with two outs in the fourth inning. Jake Peter walked and Valera followed with a single before Gale's double to the wall in center field brought home both runners for a 3-2 Dodgers lead.

Henry Ramos and Alex Verdugo drew back-to-back walks with one out in the fifth inning and both came around to score on a single up the middle by Taijeron for a 5-2 OKC lead.

Valera's RBI single with the bases loaded later in the inning put the Dodgers in front, 6-2.

After being held off the scoreboard for five innings, Iowa (4-13) added a run in the top of the ninth inning on a RBI groundout by Wynton Bernard.

Pitcher Daniel Corcino (1-0) picked up the win for Oklahoma City, allowing two runs and three hits over 3.1 innings with five strikeouts. He entered the game in the second inning after starting pitcher Brock Stewart exited the game after throwing 43 pitches.

Iowa starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay (1-1) was charged with the loss.

The series against Iowa continues at 7:05 p.m. tomorrow on a $2 Thursday, featuring $2 Pepsi products, bottled water and select beer.
