Dock Spiders Walk It off in the Bottom of the 11th

FOND DU LAC, WI- For the second time this season the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (10-8) were able to pull out the walk off win at home, this time 1-0 over the Green Bay Bullfrogs (4-12).

Sam Hubbe (Butler) came in during the third inning on the mound and pitched excellent. Hubbe finished the night pitching 6 2/3, gave up 5 hits, 2 walks, and dished out 3 strikeouts on 27 batters faced.

In the bottom of the 11th inning Troy Black (Kentucky) was able to reach on a single into right field. Jacob Adams (Ole Miss) the next batter up was able to reach first on a fielder's choice with Alex Henwood (Nebraska) who came into pinch run for Black was thrown out at second. Alex Erro (Northwestern) was then able to follow up with a single of his own which sent the leading run, Adams, to second with two outs.

With a 1-2 count and two outs with base runners on first and second, Duncan Hewitt (Butler) was able to line one right up the middle which sent Adams all the way home for the 1-0 win. For Hewitt it was his second hit of the night where he had a single in the 9th inning. The Indianapolis, IN native now has hits in 5 of his last 6 games.

Black, with his parents watching in the stands finished the night going 3/4 and extended his hit streak to 7 games.

The same two teams will meet tomorrow afternoon at Herr-Baker Field for a 1:05 first pitch.
