
Dillon Thomas Named American Association Player of the Month

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The incredible 2018 season continues for AirHogs outfielder Dillon Thomas. The Houston native has been named the American Association Rawlings Player of the Month after hitting .377 with five homers and 19 RBIs in July.
Thomas is front and center in the Association MVP race. He is currently pacing the American Association in slugging percentage (.622), doubles (32) and OPS (1.060). He currently ranks fifth in the Association in batting average (.340) and is in the Association's top-10 in home runs (11), runs (51) and RBIs (45).
Thomas is also on track to break the American Association's all-time doubles record. He is now within striking distance of the single-season record of 43, set by Jorge Alvarez of the El Paso Diablos in 2007.
Thomas's many July highlights include of the finest all-around offensive games in the American Association this season July 29 in St. Paul. Thomas crushed two homers and two doubles, powering a 14-9 win with four runs scored and four RBIs.
Thomas leads Texas in almost every category with the bat. He paces the squad in homers, runs, RBIs and extra-base hits (44) as well as on-base percentage (.438), slugging percentage and OPS. He and the AirHogs will seek a series split vs. the Gary SouthShore RailCats tonight at 7:05. RHP Miguel Rosario will get the start for Texas vs. LHP Jeff McKenzie for the RailCats.
