Make It Five in a Row as RedHawks Shut out St.Paul 6-0

FARGO, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks survived a pitcher's duel against the St. Paul Saints on Tuesday night for a 6-0 win and extends the team's winning streak to five games, matching the season high.

Sebastian Kessay outdueled St. Paul's Chris Nunn over six shutout innings on the mound tonight. Kessay struck out seven and walked none while giving up just three hits to earn his fourth win of the season.

The 'Hawks broke the scoreless tie with an RBI single from Brennan Metzger in the fifth inning before adding five more over the next three innings to open up a six-run lead.

An RBI double from Yhoxian Medina and a 2-RBI single from Tim Colwell made it a 4-0 RedHawks lead after six innings before Keury De La Cruz knocked in a run each in the seventh and eighth innings to bring the RedHawks closer to the fifth consecutive win.

Geoff Broussard pitched two scoreless innings in relief and Randy McCurry came on to close out the game in the ninth for the RedHawks.

Fargo-Moorhead jumps to 39-28 for the year and finishes 19-9 in the month of July. The RedHawks remains one game behind Gary SouthShore for the top spot in the North Division, but opened a two and a half game lead over St. Paul for second place with the win tonight.

The 'Hawks will go for the series win tomorrow night in the third of four games against the Saints. Brandon Barker will get the start for Fargo-Moorhead against St. Paul's Trevor Foss. First pitch is scheduled for 7:02 PM.
