St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN - The St. Paul Saints return to Lowertown for a snappy three-game series as they continue on their quest for a postseason berth. Despite the quick-hitter, plenty of promotions are jam-packed into a weekend full of fireworks, odorless gas and no peanuts? We even welcome another member into the revered Scouts Hall of Fame, so make sure you do not miss out on the August 3-5 homestand.
Friday, August 3 7:05 p.m. vs. Kansas City T-Bones, Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame Ceremony presented by Killebrew Root Beer, plus Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks featuring Favorite Drinking Songs
Grab your best friend (or foe) and sway to the inebriated anthems of an Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks show. Before the game, the Saints will induct the newest member into the Killebrew Root Beer Professional Scouts Hall of Fame, Terry L. Wetzel. Currently, Wetzel is involved in all areas of Baseball Operations for the Washington Nationals: scouting at the Major League, Minor League, International & amateur free agent levels. He is also a current member of the USA Baseball Selection committee. Wetzel was inducted in the Midwest Scouts Associations Hall of Fame in 2014 while a part of the Colorado Rockies organization. In his first season with Colorado in 2000, he was named Topps "Scout of the Year Award" by Topps Baseball Card company. Prior to his Rockies tenure, Wetzel spent 17 years with the Kansas City Royals organization in various roles including Senior Director of Scouting. He was named Ewing M. Kauffman "Scout of the Year" in 1993 with Kansas City.
Saturday, August 4 7:05 p.m. vs. Kansas City T-Bones, Helium's 150th Anniversary Celebration presented by Discount Tire
Round and round it goes. Helium that is (we guess tires do that also). Unless the temperature reaches absolute zero, then it condenses to a liquid with superpower-like properties. The Saints hope it does not get that cold on Helium's 150th Anniversary presented by Discount Tire. It will consume St. Paul as a colorless, tasteless and odorless gas... do not hold your breath. Helium is part of a group of chemical elements called noble gases, so at least we know it is not humble. Come celebrate its existence with Discount Tire as we all turn our wheels towards CHS Field. Also, don't hesitate to break out the aloha shirts and shades on a Treasure Island Saturday.
Sunday, August 5 5:05 p.m. vs. Kansas City T-Bones, Peanut Free Night plus Team Card Set Giveaway presented by Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota (AFAA)
No nuts? Oh nuts! Pause. Now go nuts! It is Peanut Free Night at CHS Field presented by Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota (AFAA). Everyone at the ball park will have to walk one night in the shoes of those who live without Planters-like pleasures. We will also be giving away the 2018 Team Card Set, so show up early to receive your piece of Saints history. Following the game, kids can get those cards signed by the players and run the bases on Cub Family Sunday.
We are all out of nut references, but your Saints will try to go bananas as they head down the stretch of the 2018 season. Your Lowertown heroes continue to roll on and need your help to push them into the playoffs. Every game matters, so make your way to CHS Field for the first homestand of the month, August 3-5.
Saints tickets continue to be a tremendous value. Tickets begin at $5 for the Treasure Island berm seating (available only on day of game in person at the box office), $6 for SPLASH Zone bleacher seats, $14 for outfield reserved, $16 for the drink rail and $18 for infield reserved and home plate reserved.
