Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Joe Dillon hit a homer for the fourth consecutive game and knocked in the winning run as the Albuquerque Isotopes defeated the Nashville Sounds 4-3 on Saturday night in front of a season-high 12,287 fans at Isotopes Park.
Dillon matched Rob Stratton's team record with homers in four straight games with a solo shot in the first inning to give the Isotopes the 1-0 lead. After Nashville tied the score at one in the top of the second, the Isotopes responded as Matt Padgett hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Chris Ashby. Nashville knotted the game at two in the fourth with a run off starter Matt Blank.
The score stayed tied at two until the bottom of the seventh when, with two outs, Dillon singled, scoring Wilson Valdez with the go-ahead run. Ryan Christenson scored a much needed insurance run moments later on a passed ball for a 4-2 lead. Nashville cut the lead to one with a Chris Truby double and JJ Davis single to begin the eighth. Reliever Clint Sodowsky (4-0) got out the jam with a double play ball and earned his fourth win of the season. Josias Manzanillo pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save.
Albuquerque (35-28) hosts Nashville (31-30) in the finale of the four-game series Sunday night, beginning at 6:05 PM.
