Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox split their doubleheader with New Orleans on Saturday losing 4-2 in game one before winning game two by a score of 5-1. In game one, the Sox only managed 5 hits and scored both runs via the home run. Sox starting pitcher Kevin Jarvis hit a solo shot in the top of the 4th and Anthony Sanders hit his second home run of the season in the 3rd to account for the Sox' offense. All of the Zephyrs runs came from the long ball also as they hit a 2-run shot in the 4th followed by solo home runs in the 5th and 6th. In game two, the Sox scored 4 runs in the first 3 innings and never looked back. Jorge Piedra, Erick Almonte and Rene Reyes all finished with 2 hits a piece to pace the Sky Sox offensive efforts. The Sox and the Zephyrs will play the finale of their four game set Sunday at 4:05 from Zephyr Field.
