El Paso Diablos News Release

EL PASO, TX- The Diablos bullpen faltered down the stretch after El Paso lead 5-4 into the 8th inning, giving the Amarillo Sox a 17-8 victory despite the score being just 5-4 entering the frame.

El Paso led 5-4 heading into the 8th, but reliever Kyle Cremers (1-2) suffered one of his shakier outings to the best hitting team in the American Association. By the time Cody Railsback finished the inning, the Sox had put across ten runs and all but assured themselves of a series victory.

The Diablos had fought back from an early deficit to take a 5-3 lead on Patrick Arlis' three-run double. Arlis would knock in two runs in the ninth to finish with five RBI's on the evening.

It wasn't enough for the Diablos, however, as El Paso gave up 13 runs in the final two innings, allowing a pair of home runs to the Sox and eventually surrendering 18 hits on the night.

Reliever Andrew Bowman picked up the win for the Sox to move to 1-1 on the year.

The Diablos now head to Laredo to begin a three-game series with the Lemurs.
