Albany Devils News Release

ALBANY, N.Y. - Tim Sestito's team-leading fifth game-winning goal helped complete the Albany Devils season-series sweep of the Providence Bruins. In front of 4,245 fans for "Military Appreciation Night", the Devils earned a 4-2 victory - their fourth win against the Bruins.

More than half of Sestito's nine goals this season have been game-deciding tallies. His goal Saturday came at 17:57 of the second period and was setup by Nathan Perkovich, who had a pair of assists.

"We got it in deep and it was a two-man cycle with Perkovich," Sestito said. "He kind of came off the wall ... and he got it to me. I was just trying to get it through and it had some eyes and picked that corner. I was pretty happy about it."

Just prior to the goal, goaltender Jeff Frazee made a sliding save on a near-side attempt. The Devils responded moments later in the offensive end.

"It definitely feels good to make a save and have the team respond with a goal," Frazee said. He finished the game with 34 stops for his 12th victory.

Earlier in the game, the two teams swapped goals in the first. Darcy Zajac opened the scoring at 7:30 and Providence's Craig Cunningham responded at 16:12. The Devils finished the period with a 19-11 shot advantage.

"We talked about it after the first, as good as we were, we need to be sharper and not getting beat back up the ice or giving up odd man rushes," said head coach Rick Kowalsky. "We made a very good adjustment of that in the second. Other than a couple of shifts in the third, I thought we got better as the game went on."

Mattias Tedenby made the score 2-1 at 1:16 of the second. After Sestito's goal, Providence pulled back within one at 8:11 of the third.

Mike Sislo capped the scoring at 12:48, giving the Devils a cushion for the remaining seven minutes.

"We didn't want to sit back," Zajac said. "We've done that before and teams have come back and tied it up and beat us. We just had to keep the pressure on and keep working."

The Devils conclude the season with a 4 p.m. contest against the Syracuse Crunch at the Times Union Center.
