LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Devils matched their highest goal total of the season to defeat the Springfield Falcons, 6-4, on Wednesday night at the Tsongas Arena. Six different players scored for Lowell to extend their home winning streak to four games.

With the score tied, 3-3, going into the third period, the Devils would take the lead for good using a 5-on-3 advantage. After Patrick Davis threw a shot into traffic at the front of the net, the puck skittered to Chad Wiseman alone on the far post for the easy tap-in past a sprawled Devan Dubnyk. The power play tally gave Wiseman five straight games with a goal.

Vladimir Zharkov seemingly put the game out of reach with 5:51 left in regulation, following his own rebound to put the Devils up by two. Springfield would make things interesting, pulling their goaltender for a 6-on-4 power play. Sebastien Bisaillon would sneak a wrist shot through a crowd and past Jeff Frazee for his second of the night and to also pull the Falcons back within one with 53.6 seconds left in the contest.

The Devils put the final nail in the coffin on Davis' empty-net goal with 8.8 remaining on the clock. Frazee won his fifth consecutive start, stopping 27-for-31 shots.

The first two periods saw quick scoring and quick answers for both teams. The Devils struck first at 3:58 of the opening frame when Brad Mills sent Alexander Vasyunov with a breakaway pass that the latter fired under the cross bar. Under two minutes later, however, the Falcons would knot the score, 1-1, with a rocket slapshot from the blueline by Bisaillon that beat Frazee to the blocker side.

Skating 4-on-4 later in the first, Lowell would retake its lead on a 2-on-1 break with Vladimir Zharkov and Anssi Salmela. Zharkov fired a shot off the leg pad of Dubnyk that rebounded straight to Salmela, who dumped the puck into the net for his first goal of the season. Ryan Potulny answered for Springfield 1:35 later with a breakaway goal to tie the game, 2-2.

Brian Lerg gave the Falcons their only lead in the contest at 16:01 of the second period only to see Ryan Murphy respond in 38 seconds for the Devils.
