Darling Recalled By Penguins

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have recalled goaltender Curtis Darling from the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, it was announced on Wednesday. Darling will be in uniform when the Penguins take on the Worcester Sharks tonight at the DCU Center at 7:05pm.

Darling, 25, has a record of 8-2-3 with one shutout, a 2.86 goals against average and a .913 save percentage in 13 games with the Nailers this season.

Darling split last year between Wheeling and Charlotte in the ECHL, while appearing in a pair of American Hockey League games with the Syracuse Crunch and Manchester Monarchs. He combined for a 10-21-3 record with a 3.46 goals against average and a .909 save percentage in 35 ECHL games last season. He made his AHL debut on December 12, 2007, stopping all four shots he faced during 15 minutes of play as Syracuse took a 4-2 win against to the Lake Erie Monsters.

The Penguins return home this Saturday night, when they will take on the Albany River Rats at 7:05pm. The first 5,000 fans will receive a Tom Kostopoulos 10th Season Team Bobblehead, courtesy of BlueCross of Northeastern Pennsylvania Highmark Blueshield.
