Tri-City Storm News Release

Muskegon, Mi. - Tory Dello's game-winning goal with eight minutes left in the third sealed a 2-1 Tri-City Storm win over the Muskegon Lumberjacks Friday from the L.C. Walker Arena.

Starting from the neutral zone, the Storm Captain drove the left faceoff circle and unleashed a seeing-eye wrister that went over the glove of Joey Daccord.

Jake Kielly made 32 saves to win the duel with Daccord, nailing down Kielly's fourth win of the season. All four of the first-year netminder's victories have been when he's made at least 30 saves.

The Storm started off with the game's first goal as well. At 19:20 of the first, forward Collin Rutherford opened the scoring, tapping Wade Allison's centering feed past the left leg of Daccord. Wade Allison took the primary helper, backhanding the pass to Rutherford at the right post. Mattias Goransson received the secondary helper.

Rutherford has two goals and four points for the Storm in 10 games with the club. Goransson leads Storm defensemen with 15 points. Allison has two goals and five points for Tri-City in his second season with the squad.

Tri-City held a 14-10 shot edge at the end of the opening period.

Rem Pitlick tied the game at the 7:53 mark of the second on the power play, tapping a waffling puck on the power play to even the score at one.

After the goal, the Storm defense did not allow another power play, finishing 1-for-2 on the kill. The netminder Kielly went into shutdown mode after the Pitlick goal, saving 23 shots through the first two frames and fending off nine more in the final frame.

Meanwhile, Tri-City continued to generate shots, taking 11 in the second and eight more in the third.

The lockdown set the stage for Dello's goal, a sharp wrister on a rush chance over Daccord's glove with 7:53 remaining in the third. Andrew Peski started the rush from his own blue line to earn the only assist.

Dello's has five goals with the Storm in his USHL career.

The Storm is on the road against Muskegon again Saturday at 6:15 p.m. Listen on "The Breeze 94.5 FM" with David Fine at 6:00 p.m. for Storm Pregame.

Tri-City's next home contest is Sunday, Dec. 6, against the Lincoln Stars at 5:05 p.m.
